Discovering the Centre of Portugal – Part 2 – Leiria and Mosteiro Da Batalha
After lunch in Leiria, where the catsle was closed, we visited the Monastery of Batalha (Portuguese: Mosteiro da Batalha) It is a breath-taking Dominican convent in the municipality of Batalha. Originally, and officially, known as the Monastery of Saint Mary of the Victory, it was erected in commemoration of the 1385 Battle of Aljubarrota and would serve as the burial church of the 15th-century Aviz dynasty of Portuguese royalty. It is one of the best and original examples of Late Flamboyant Gothic architecture in Portugal, intermingled with the Manueline style.

Spring in Gaillac – Album #1
Our Spring in Gaillac gave us a chance to discover again the beauty of the this town and nature. It seems that the Covid-19 got us to travel closer but take more time to enjoy details we miss during our trips sometimes… As we left all our material in London, we as well took the opportunity to be creative and explore new photography techniques and angles. What we love the most: Beside the obvious reflection in the river? We really liked: The messages written a little everywhere on doors, walls… The old windows and doors The Nature Welcome to this beautiful trip in Gaillac, South West of France…

Bordaloii in Vila Nova de Gaia
We found this week end a really great artwork from the street Artist and installation artist Bordalo II. Bordalo was born in Lisbon, 1987 and belong to a generation that is extremely consumerist, materialist and greedy. With the production of things at its highest, the production of “waste” and unused objects is also at its highest. “Waste” is quoted because of its abstract definition: “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Bordalo create, recreate, assemble and develop ideas with end-of-life material and try to relate it to sustainability, ecological and social awareness. You can learn more about the artist on his website: http://www.bordaloii.com Bordaloii – Vila Nova de Gaia
